Shovel Knight

Shovel Knight is a throwback game to the early NES/SNES and Mega Drive games, with a brilliant 8-bit soundtrack, beautiful pixel art and some definitely unique ideas and mechanics, Shovel Knight is just a fun game.

This isn’t a review, as such, but I wanted to comment on the art style mainly, as it’s better looking pixel art than back in the early 90’s, where pixel art was a LOT different to how it is now, the colours are more vibrant because of the lack of hardware limitations, and there are some new mechanics added that weren’t seen in older games of the same style. The game is overall very good to look at, pleasing on the eyes maybe, having a nice pallette and interesting designs, too.
